After starting Sabot building in 2013, I’m now starting the 30th hull – to be delivered to the SWYC junior program. In 2018 10 yacht club boats and three racing boats were delivered. The three racing Sabots were all for junior sailors in San Diego and that is my greatest joy, to see kids out sailing their own boats and have and wonderful time on the water.
I’m hoping for at least another 13 boats for 2019m, most probably for the SWYC and CYC junior programs. Both yacht clubs have commited to supporting their junior sailors and continue to introduce dingy sailing to more young people in southern California.
